Who Are You?
No, I am not really that interested in your name. Though,
that is what most people would choose for an answer. Actually,
I am asking you to take a moment and think about what kind of
person are you. What is your goal each day? Do you think of
others and their problems? What is the first thought that
crossed your mind each morning when you wake up? That tells me
a lot about what kind of person you are.
Are you generous with others when they are in need?
Generosity is measured in many ways. Giving of your time is a
form of generosity. And, of course, sharing or giving up some
of your precious money would be generous. Unless. Unless, you
do your sharing with the intent of making others think that you
are generous. Be discreet with your sharing and don't tell the
whole town what a great guy you are.
Have you ever picked up the newspaper and seen a picture of
someone awarding a check to some cause? Of course you have. It
happens every day. Usually makes the front page in small town
papers. Everyone is all smiles. My point, just give, but don't
brag about it. It is a greater gift you give when you ask
nothing in return...like recognition. God is keeping track, so
don't worry about the score.
Do you go about each day intending to help others or point
out their flaws? We all have our shortcomings. I know I do.
Maybe you could get greater satisfaction helping people than
shooting them down. Who knows? Wait a minute...they are being
critical of you! They got it coming! So, someone wants to fight
with you. Try a different approach today and baffle 'em with
forgiveness and kindness. They won't see this coming and at
first, may not know what to do.
So, think for yourself and don't forget others. Sure, they
may have done something wrong to you in the past. Maybe, you
made a mistake yourself too. It is possible. Change your life
and help those around you at the same time. You will not regret
it!
Thanks,
Alton Hargrave
